The tone woods that have been selected for the D3 are Rosewood back and sides with a solid Spruce top giving the guitar a great tone, rich and warm in the bottom end, with great harmonically balanced highs. MORE INFO Stretton Payne Acoustic BASS Guitar ABCE Solid Spruce Top This one is fresh off the drawing board for 2007, a well priced electro acoustic bass from the British brand Stretton Payne. This bass features a solid spruce top, giving it a nice bright tone but also allowing the sound to travel. The solid Spruce is complemented perfectly by its Mahogany back and sides, the combination of the two gives the bass an uplifting tone, not to dark and dingy which often happens with an acoustic instrument of this manner. The mahogany brings all the mid tones out; the construction off the bass is good with nice bindings and a nice-looking rosette around the sound hole. The Stretton Payne ABCE Bridge is made from Rosewood along with the fingerboard, which is finish with dot inlays.
